-=Forgot to fill the Torque Converter=- What should I do?



Fired up my motor tonight... After a few, I heard a squeeking sound coming from tranny. realized I forgot to put in fluid in TC.... what should I do?

Pull it out and see if there's any metal shavings

Axle/Gears: 8.8 rear, 4.56 gears, 4:1 transfer
The transmission pump will fill the torque convertor up for you. Just keep an eye on the fluid level.

Yeah most reccomend adding 1 quart to the Tc before install, but as said , it should fill up...if the noise continues I would make sure the TC is positioned correctly. It may not be all the way on.

It isn't nessesary to fill your converter before installing it. it's recommended though.

the fluid will flow into the converter on it's own when you top up the trans

Thanks guys! The TC is ok, turns out the sound was the flexplate hitting the starter gear!! An 1/8" shim fixed it!
