I have a 85 x tpi and when the car is not running the gas pedal is normal or it isnt hard to push it is preety soft. But when u start the car the pedal gets extremely sticky and it is very hard to push it down. Anyone know why it is doing this. thnx

also examine where the throttle shaft goes through the throttle body. if this area is worn enough, it can cause the gas pedal to stick.

thnx guys i checked the back of the butterflies and i did clean them even thought there wasnt mush there buit it is still doin it the same amount. I was talking to someone and he said it might be the radiator fluid that goes through the trottle body. and he said u can just bypass it, and ceing i am in florida i dont need to worry about it freezing. Well i am going to go get a hose connector tommaro and see if it works. Thnx

yup. sounds like a bad cable to me.... they get frayed inside causing it to stick.
They're cheap and easy to replace so just do it
