1992 Firebird...

I'm thinking about getting an F-body, and know i won't be able to afford a 4th gen, so is the 1992 the fastest/best of all 3rd gens? Please don't suggest the 89' tta, that also is out of the question as far as price.

I saw somewhere that the 92' Formula Firehawk was one hell of a fast car....so i would really like to get my hands on one! any info on this car is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin

1) this should really be posted in the history section.

2) That '92 firehawk is a big dream right now .. there was only like 24 or 25 made and i highly doubt someone is gonan get rid of one.

3) 92 is not the "fastest" year for the firebird. It depends on what you want. In '90 they went from a 2.8 v6 to a 3.1. The lo3 (Tbi V8) as in use from 88-92. Then you have the tpi engines that been in the t/a's and camaro's since the mid 80's.

89up got the VATS (anti theft) module, which is nice.

90up got the option for dual cats, look for this.

90up got the better sensor/ECM.

So if I was going to do it all over again, I'd get a 90-92 with dual cats (I've got an 89 Formula 350).

Well my 1991 formula 350 stock, can run 14.5's all day long with me and my friend in the car (about 190 pounds for me and he's 140), so that is 330 pounds of dead weight. Plus when i went racing my car was like 225 to 235 temp, and outside temp was like 80. My 60 foots are usually 2.1 to 2.2

Just buy a V-8 car, and build the S**t out of it...if you are anything like alot of guys on this board, thats what you will end up doing anyway..just 1 opinion...
