My '92 does 0-70 in 2 seconds

Driving home on the highway after work yesterday and noticed the speedometer sitting at zero.
Then it shot up to 70mph. Looks like I need to check the speedo cable or possibly transducer for cruise control?
I guess that is one way to keep miles low, huh?

your speedo is that of the electronic variety, not cable driven. I'd check for a lose connection at the VSS or a lose connection somewhere down the line between the ecm and the dash....
