Ready to give up, she died again today

Alright boys, here it goes .
This Car, my life, my dreams, my aspirations. I wanted a 10 second Car that could smoke anything in the corners aswell as running 10s. I just finished spending 4000 on the car and parts that ive got lying around for it IM BROKE. THIS IS MY DAILY DRIVER. I was installing my tach about 2 months ago and when i went to fire it up.. It wouldnt start 400 dollars later it wasnt fixed and all i knew was that the main fuse (beside the rad in Engine bay) blew, every time the engine was shut off. GREAT. A month and a half later i found a blue wire running along the drivers door from fuse box area to trunk had been severed. Great, i thought this would sove my problems. It looks like it's the fuel pressure switch "circuit" or something like that, the shop that i had it at said when they didnt use the fuel pressure switch the fuse didnt blow (but the switch was fine). Then the car started to bog at 1/45 throttle when it was warm I attributed this to a weak 700r4 that had seen a couple of neutral drops. So im driving down the highway today goin 60 mph on Deerfoot (hwy)and all of a sudden the car dies, no warning nothing just dead. So im coasting thinking the fuse under the hood blew, i put it into neutral and try to start it anyways (coasting) turns doesnt start. Keep coasting... Then all of a sudden my oil pressure just plops like an SOB. I come to a stop pt the car in park and got to switch the fuse.. but its fine.

I ended up getting towed to a local shop, and dropping the keys off there, atleast the tow trck drive was cool.

So now i've got to work tommorow, go visit my military unitand workout without a $#@!%^#%& CAR. Im strapped for cash and life sucksone of my friends is a second yr apprentice but he knows Sweet jack all about electrical I JUST WANT to give up..
Shoul i buy a pinto and drive it till i can afford to fix the car, Im never going to be able to get even 1/2 of what i've put into this car it's got too many idiosyncracies. Anyone with any ideas?
PLEASE

This really sounds like a fuel/ignition problem. You need to:
-Check your fuel pressure. Is the fuel pump priming when key is turned on?
-Are you getting spark?
-Any Codes being thrown?

Check the basics and tell us what ya come up with, and well go from there! Dont give up man... everything works out eventually!

A shop told you that you have a fuel pressure switch? I'd find a different shop.

Look at this wiring diagram find the Fuel Pump/OIL pressure switch sender for me. mid left of diagram.
Thanks

I was the one that figured that the light blue wire was severed from there after searching in my haynes for a GOOd chunk of time

gta...

dude dont give up..thats the worst thing you can do to her...i was in the same predicament although i didnt have the same probs as you did...id fix something..something else went, fix that, something else went, the newest and biggest, i come home and rip my custom front end off with a brand new paint job(less the 2 months old)..i was cursing saying i wanna sell it get rid of it..blah blah blah...they hear this man...and when they hear it they get depressed and start giving up...i swear they are a real person sometimes...shes just telling you that she will work with you...just be nice to her(keep with what you are doing) and shell come around when she feels that youre gonna stay around..my car has been through 21 different people since 87(it had a bad wiring problem) i fixed it, now shes golden with the occasional old part finally dieing..but thats what to expect from an older car...

anyways..keep her man...keep doing what you are doing...shell come around..give her your heart sweat tears, shell run like a charm...in time maybe but it will come./..

good luck

10 seconds, yes. Im going to use it as a daily driver through my Suspension upgrades (almost done) ford 9" with an open rear so i can swap gears.

Then an insanely built tranny.
After that shes getting a 377 which im hoping will make somewhere around 500 hp
and 400 ft lbs.How does that equate to 10's?

Two garrett 73's an intercooler and 50 hp shot of juice
When i slap on the Garretts shes not going to be my daily anymore

I've got 3 1/2 yrs left to build this sob ( from what i can see)

Shop says i've got a bad fuel pump... any input here... This could be the stutter i was experiencing and the fuse blowing when the engine was shut off.

When my fuel pump went, the car would still run (REALLY crappy, tho), but the pump wouldn't prime when the key was in the ON position. If the car car still run, and it won't go over 3 grand without sputtering, it could be the fuel pump.
Replace the ignition module, just as a safe guard. They are cheap, and tend to cause a lot of problems. Sell some sperm, if you need the money.

Fuel injection, don't ya just love it???

Every ignition module that has cooked on me went south when I tried to start it in the morning. I think it was pretty fried when it was shut off the night before.

Yeah, and im trying to build a 10 sec street brawler... WTF am i thinking, one good thing to come of my car constantly breaking down is that when i started out with this car 2 yrs ago i KNEW nothing. Now i know a whole crapload, and have actually done a fe wmods myself, like installing my konis and Edelbrock stb (even if my hood has a billionth of an inch clearance issue going on.) Not to mention doing my brakes and oil...
