I have only used Accel plugs once (u-groove) was'nt impressed. I now have Accel 8mm wires and Accel cap & rotor with AC Delco plugs. I am about to install headers, cam and AFPR , I am going to put MSD wires and cap & rotor on. Don't know if it's a mind over matter thing , but the Accel is so much cheaper it makes me think maybe they are not as good I have straight plug boots and have heard that I have to change to 90 degree boots for the headers. That is why I am changing the wires, other than that I have no problems with them. And I always like to keep a fresh cap & rotor on my car because they are cheap and easy to change and make a big difference in how it runs. Like I said, I have always heard you get what you pay for and the Accel stuff is like half the price of the MSD,but once again I have had no problems with the Accel stuff.Cap & rotor are like $20 and 8mm wires are about $30 at Discount Auto Parts.

I recently bought a pair of Taylor 8mm wires from Summit & would highly recommend them.....good price, perfect fit & very easy to install. Just my 2 cents.

The Accel shorty header plugs are junk. Me and others on here, have had a lot of problems with the tips coming loose.

I'm not a huge fan of Accel wires. They burned up on me prematurely. The only wires that I havent had burn on my are my Taylor Spiro Pro's.

I'm another guy that had trouble with the accel plugs, the brass terminals that the plug wires would clip onto would loosen up, and cause a misfire. No matter how hard I tightened them, they'd always loosen up. I even brought 'em down to the bench, put them in a vise, and cranked 'em on- thought I'd break the plug. A week later they were all loose again... into the garbage they went.

I run MSD 8.5mm wires, I bought my dad a set of Accel 8mm "super sport" wires for his truck. They've been on there almost two years, and I guess they're fine... he just passed emissions with the truck so they can't be that bad.

I put the accel 8.8mm plug wires on about a month ago, so far no problems. I went with the accel wires because they are almost half the price of the MSD wires.

I also have had the accel header plugs and the terminals do come loose.

Are the ends coming loose on just the header plugs or the regular plugs as well?

Car: No more birdy
Ive never had a problem with the terminals comming loose but I did test the spark plugs engergy output and they did very poorly.
I compared the Accels to regular old cheap 99c Bosh plugs and the Bosh plugs held spark with 5psi more air flow through the machine.

At first I thought they were the sh*t. THen I started reading these post, and checked mine out. My tips are unscrewed on mine too. I tried tightening them, and they came right back loose. Wasn't really sure that them being loose would cause a misfire or not, since they were still making contact. But you guys say they do, so I went out tonight and bought a set of ac delco's. I have heard all good things about these. Maybe these will run a little better.
