Why do people think that "we think" that a TB bypass will give them 50 HP?

Why do people think that "we think" that a TB bypass will give them 50 HP?
It's a mod you do, or don't do, and doesn't really matter either way. Can't hurt, but "might" help. https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=122574 Some people think they have to "save the world" and tell us a !TB won't boost our HP- no kidding! Drives me nuts. Sorry for the "vent".
It says in my shop manual that the coolant flowing through there was for the purpose everyone says it is, to prevent the throttle from freezing and sticking. You can't deny that making the air coming into the engine cooler has it's benefits, and some horsepower increase could be likely in certain conditions. That's the truth about almost anything, though.
Personally, I did it to get rid of those hoses. I cut the nippes off of my throttle body because they were just ugly. It's nice to not have to disconnect two hoses and spill coolant all over just to take apart your tb.
