Randomly occurring sound from engine...

Ok, i'm getting this odd sound from my engine. It's only when decelerating and sounds like a soft rapid tapping.

The only two times I've heard it were right after I :
1) flushed and filled coolant system and replaced plugs/wires
2) installed new radiator(today)

Now, the cooling system only took 8 quarts of water/coolant so I'm thinking the noise has something to do with the coolant circulation. It's a 305, I thought they had 17 qts of cooling system capacity. If this is normal, let me know. If not, I'd love to hear what is causing this.

Thanks man, at least that's normal.

Anyone got any ideas on the engine noise?

Does it do it every time you drive the car or only occasionally? Does it do it when you're idling at a stoplight?

Only occasionally makes the sound, and it's when decelerating to stop. This has only happened twice.

I'm pretty sure it kept making the noise at idle.

Next time it does it, put your emergency brake on and unplug your EGR solenoid to see if it stops. If that's not it, try to pinpoint where it's coming from by ear and by touch.
