please help me identify these headlight sensors (pics incl)
please help me identify these headlight sensors (pics incl)
(I hope this isn't supposed to be in the electrical tech forum. If so, sorry.)
I've been having problems with my passenger side headlight for awhile now. At first I swapped out the motor, but that didn't work. I checked the ground and followed the wires up to a cluster of sensors/modules along the firewall, and have replaced several of these parts, as shown in the photo below.
The first image is a photo of all the parts replaced thus far, including the motor.

The other photos are of the various sensors and modules believed to control the headlight motors (see pics below).
Can anyone tell me exactly what each of these parts is? (parts circled in red). I thought the rectangular pak with a plug on either side (seen just left of the master cylinder) was the module, however someone recently told me that the module is actually the two small plugs to the far right by the clutch master cylinder. I suspect the other two (the small square pak and the flat plug seen also in the parts pic) are sensors of some kind.
If anyone can clear up this mystery for me and properly identify these parts it would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

So those 2 on the far right aren't headlight related at all? Thanks. But unfortunately this means that I purchased the wrong parts. Ha.
Anyway, can anyone confirm which of these is indeed what I'm looking for? I'm fairly certain it's just the larger rectangular pak on the far left, just anterior to the master cylinder. Is that the only one, or does one of the others also contribute?
Thanks again.

I think it is diff. on diff. years, cause I was told one of my headlight motor relays is back there somwhere I think.

Thanks all. Yeah, the 86 and the 89 have different layouts, but Vader's diagram does give me a basic idea of what I'm looking for. And it is similar enough for me to figure out what all of those sensors are.
The MAF power relay, the fuel pump relay and the electronic spark control were all replaced mistakenly. That means the other sensor in question is the MAF burn off relay. Which means the headlight relay is in fact that rectangular box on the firewall with the 2 plugs going into it.
I feel sorta stupid now, but at least I learned something.

Hey don't worry, now you don't have to worry about your fuel pump and MAF relays.
I had an 87, and that same module went bad on me, and the passenger side light wouldn't go up (but it would go down, which was a pain in the ace because I had to manually put it up all the time... until someone told me to just unplug the motor
)
Anywho, that module, I think it has 4 inputs and 5 outputs, has some relays in it. I took it apart, cleaned the contacts in the relays, and bent one of the pins that controlled the bad headlight a bit closer to the contact. It never went bad on me again.
If you need to go to a junkyard to find another module, I think the 87-92 Firebird all have them.
