Comp cams 268XE or 270XE in L98???

Getting ready to buy a cam for my L98 but can't decide if the 270 will be too much for the street and daily driving. How will the computer like it? Anyone have experience with either one? Except Mark (im not listening to someone who didn't install self aligning rockers or guideplates ) J/K man. Anyway, the other internals will remain stock. Car has aftermarket ignition system and full exhaust. Any help would be appreciated. I'll post the specs on each of the cams if you need me to. Thanx

I may be wrong, but I think either of those are bad choices. I hear the powerband of the tpi unit doesn't match those well. Could be wrong though.

Oh and you're a jerk, j/k.

You have SD, so you will need an eprom regardless. But, if you learn to burn your own eproms, then you'll be able to make either work.

FYI, Tim Sifford (aka Traxion) runs a custom grind Comp Cam with 230I/245E @.050. and passed Maryland's Emission Testing! He's shooting for 11s. He ran a 12.24 with his old parts.

PS: Even if you had MAF, I'd still recommend burning your own eprom. Controlling spark advance is key to developing power, and you need to modify the eprom to do it right.

I went with a comp extreme 218/224 495 or 496 /502 and a 112 lsa I like it. I ran a 13.6 at 101 with TF heads and the stock chip
