What oil dipstick will work?

I got a new motor for my 88 trans am and now the dipstick is on the drivers side not the passenger side. My old dipstick will not fit in and I dont know what year the block is. It is a 1 piece rear main seal if that helps. What oil dipstick will work. I was thinking of going with the summit billit one.

Lokar Pre-1980 (I think?) flexible dipstick. Bolts to the headers and looks shiny and purty.

Hmmm...one piece rear main with a driver side dipstick? Gotta look into that.

Inwo, if it is indeed a one piece rear main than it would have to be 87 and up. Couldn't be pre-1980

Mines an 87 block and its on the drivers side. Doesn't bolt on just pushes into the block. Actually I don't have a dipstick yet because I haven't been able to find one, but I know thats how and where it fits. Looks like I'll have to go to the dealer unless I want to order one.

I just didn't think that any of the newer one-piece rear main blocks had the driver side dipstick.

What prevents you from using a chrome dipstick and tube for a
'79 and earlier 350? Does your car have cast iron manifolds which cover the hole in the deck of the block? I used an oil pan for
an '80-'85 block with passenger side dipstick and a block which
adapts the oil pan to the '79 and earlier 2-piece rear main seal block. This setup uses a long dipstick and tube like third gens.
The adapter block should fit the one-piece RMS block and pan,
too.
