2stroke oil?

just out of curiousity what harm can be done by adding two stroke into the gas of your cars?

I know on my rx7 if I am going to run it hard I put a little 2 stroke into the gas just to give it a little extra protection and it doesnīt seem to harm anything

oh yeah and donīt even start saying the rotory is a two stroke

ITīS NOT

On a 4 stroke piston engine, oil in the combustion chamber can cause pre-ignition/detonation. I use to own a Kawasaki Mach III 500cc 3-cylinder two stroke and it had fairly low compression IIRC (compared to 4 stroke engines).

Not sure about the effects on a rotary engine. I think where people "confuse" a rotary with a 2 stroke is because neither used valves, but "ports".

It depends on the mix ratio. We mix chainsaw gas at a 50:1 ratio and I have run it in pickups when I ran out and it ran fine. We also had a 550 gallon fuel tank that had diesel in it and then we put gas in it when it was empty. There was some diesel left in it and the rx-7 I had at the time would barely run on it. The Toyota pickup I had loved it, I could get about an extra 30 miles out of a tank.

It'll smoke...probably some carbon buildup. Mean less fuel in your fuel...which can cause it's own slew of problems. Doubt it'll really give any extra protection..on a piston motor anyway. I dunno that a rotary will make any better use of it but I don't know them well enough to say.

just asked out of curiousity

only reason I add it to my rotory is for a little extra protection when I know I am going to start getting on the car hard and bring it into the 8000 rpm range. the car uses a little motor oil anyway to inject into the cyl at about 100:1 with my 2 stroke I bring it down to about 75:1-50:1

I was hearing stuff like carbon build up and sludge, but wasnīt sure if there was any real effects or not in a piston motor

well it seems that my gas milage went up 2 mpg using two stroke in the gas as well as a little better performance

don't know why other then maybe better lube to friction parts

but this is on my rotary not a piston motor

you could use mystery oil or a good upper cyl lube,
piston lube comes to mind. both made for gas 4 stroke engines.
