motor has the shakes!!!!!
at 2000 up to about 2800 or so i can feel something shaking very bad. the motor was an original LB9 and now it is a L98. the balancer that came with the new longblock had rubber coming out so the original balancer from the 305 was used. the motor has about 22,000 miles on it. it has a wc t-5 tranny and the flywheel was resurfaced when the motor was put in. new clutch also. i cant see the motor shaking when i stand outside the car, nor can i feel it. i am leaning towards the flywheel. the motor mounts look fine, and i cant think of anything else. it has had this problem since the motor was replaced, and i just bought the car and have put about 500 miles on it. i just wanna get this fixed before it is too late. any info would be great. tia. :hail:
maybe i am wrong but i think the 305's are balance for the lighter rotating assembly than a 350 is.....even though they have the same stroke. be careful....ya dont want that balancer to snap the snout off your crank, i've seen it happen......bye bye radiator and i hope ya ain't got a fiberglass hood.

just out of curiousity(spelling) you didn't happen to mess with the valve train in any way did you. This may be a shot in the dark but my motor had the shakes between 1800 and 2600 rpms when I over tightened the rocker arrms on initial install of the new motor. Once I took off the valve covers and adjusted the valves while running all my problems went away.
Did the L98 have this problem in whatever it was in for the previous 22,000 miles. By the way I put the 350 in my car to replace the 305 and re-used the balancer and everything is fine. I am also using a WC T-5.

the motor is a remanufactured motor, and according to the guy i bought it from, it has always done it since the motor swap. the valve train was not touched, and it is also came with the motor (longblock). i am stumped. i cant feel it unless i am sitting in the car.
