Why does my new engine feel slow on the low end??
The list of parts in my new engine are in my signature. It feels a lot slower off the line than I expected it to be...especially with the Super Ram. Above like 2500-3000 it pulls pretty hard though. I am going to check for vac leaks again, but last time I didn't find any. Anyone have any ideas??

What kinda cam and converter are you running? If you're running a cam too much duration for the stall speed of the converter, that can cause a lack of power to the ground in the low end.

i agree with tom. get a higher stall speed converter. it sounds like youe motor needs something between 2200-2500

Sorry for the lack of info. I have a converter that stalls slightly higher than stock and my cam is only slightly larger than a stock 350 cam. I have AFR 190 heads and about 10.2:1 compression.
Timing is set at about 6 degrees and I have 3.42 gears.

have you checked for richness? I know that bogged me down until I got some airflow into the motor. That was on TBI though. but it could be that you dont have enough firepower yet. or your plugs need to be replaced. have you actually checked your compression by doing a cranking compression check?
your timing seems like it would be fine. Those heads and that intake will flow well but at higher speeds and rpms. my guess would be it is rich.

What duration is slighty more then stock? I can tell you that my 357 won't come alive until it gets about 20 degrees of. It has a hard time idling with less then 10. That's with 218/224 at .050 lift.
