it depends on what you want to do with the car, don't just go sticking the biggest cam in there that you can find, it will cause problems, especially in a computer controlled fuel injected car.

gotta stay computer friendly in your situation

i also see you have an auto, the bigger cam with longer duration you go, the more you will lack low end power. the only way to get a good luanch back is with a higher stall torque convertor, the cam listed in my car, when it was an auto, would have benefited greatly from about a 2500rpm stall, i am opting to go with a 5 spd instead.

long duration cams also affect vacuum, not a huge deal. but it will affect how well your power brakes work especially in traffic, when my car is idling you get 2 maybe 3 consective pumps of the brake pedal and it gets HARD to push, untill you rev the engine a little.

you also gotta think about the stock heads, and what valve springs you can put in stock heads, my cam is the very upper limit of the factory springs on my heads, i have been told i am nuts for running it this way, oh well. i have no clue what the limits are for your engine

bottom line think and ask around before you order

would something like this be okay. all i really want out of THIS thirdgen, is to have a nice cruiser with a bit of bruiser to back it up at the stop lights when a civic pulls up next to me.
so how about something like...453 .468 lift and .222 and .218 duration. would that be any good, i came up with it myself so i don't really know. what i did to get them was i took the specs of the stock auto cam and stock 5-speed cam and added the differance onto the 5-speed specs again. would this be a good choice or am i going t big or small.

If your keeping the stock heads and TPI I would get the equivelent of the comp 256xe cam in a HR.

.you see i do not plan on keeping my 305 forever. i only want to give it a bit of o before it goes . i do plan on keeping stock heads, but i am getting them ported, and i do plan on keeping the tpi but porting all of it and maybe some slp runners. Basically i plan on getting a 350/383 in about 1-2 years but till i don't want to be rolling around in a dog. just looking for mabye a mid to low 14 sec car out of the motor, or maybe a little faster
