rebuild an engine?

this prob seems like a stupid Question but im only 17 and just started learning about cars for the last 2-3 months now, but my question is that, my teacher owns an auto shop and for his students he rebuilds 350's for $98. what do they useally do when they rebuild it? and is that a good deal? I gotta 92 camaro z28 with a 350 TPI stock and runs great, should i rebuild mine?
thanks
kevin

Well I could rebuild your engine for $5. Just give me a bottle of "Motor Honey" and it'll run for 5,000,000 more miles.

Sorry but $98 for rebuild is like a bottomless bucket. It just don't hold no water!!! LMAO

For that money he is probably just replacing the rings and bearings. No boring out to clean up the cylinders or anything. To be honest it would be hard to just replace all the gaskets for that price. Maybe that is the labor he charges and you spend the money on the rebuild kit. In any case if your motor runs good and is not in the need of a rebuild why don't you use his expertice to help you upgrade the camshaft and valvetrain or something.
