To All Non Believers: 15 Inch Rims On Iroc
To All Non Believers: 15 Inch Rims On Iroc
after being told countless times by dealers and other people that 15 inch rims wont fit/clear the calipers on 4 wheel disc brake system, I did it. It was no problem. The only mod I made was to put spring stabilizers in to strengthen the springs so the taller tires on back wouldnt rub. I put 15X7 Cragar SS on front and 15X10 Cragar SS on the back. no problem what-so-ever! BFG P215/65R/15 Radials on front and BFG P295/50R/15 Radials on back with White letters out! Definitly old school look.

¿¿¿ Huh ????
Thousands and thousands of those cars came from the factory with 15" wheels and 4-wheel disc brakes, for several years before the 16" wheels were available. That 15" wheels will clear is no revelation, except that it reveals that you were fed misinformation by a bunch of people you should have been able to trust.

Put your num pad in Num Lock; hold down the Alt key, and type 0191 on the num pad, and let go of the alt key.
¿ = Alt-0191
° = Alt-0176
½ = Alt-0189
é = Alt-0233
etc
big fun

Some Irocs even came with 15's instead of 16's. I've got a set on my 91 GMC Jimmy 4dr. Other than some of the people on this board, I can think of only a few people that 'really' know their **** when it comes to cars--especially third-gens.

In 87 the L69 was discontinued but the LG4 was still the standard motor. In 88 the carbed LG4 was replaced with the L03 TBI motor. The TPI motor was optional in all years except for 1990 when it became standard in the IROC.

I've never seen an IROC with the 15" wheels and rear discs from the factory. I've seen Z28's with them, but not IROCs. Im not saying they don't exist.....

The LS1 T/A was faster than the 89' TTA. Forget what year I saw it was tested(thought in 00'), I believe it ran a 12.9 by Motor Trend, a WS6 of course...LT1 wont beat a TTA stock vs stock. This is how I remember it anyways

Sad, but true.
