Can Somebody Please Figure This Shi** Out For Me!!!!!!!

Alright, my car has been doing this for awhile. When it has been shut off for 2-4 hours it will not start. It will just turn over and over until the battery is dead without starting, but if I pull it with another car, the damn thing will start right up. When it is still warm, like after it has been shut off for under 2 hours it will also start right up. Also if it has been shut off like overnight or about 6-8 hours it also is fine. It seems to only do this when it has sat for only 2-4 hours or so. Is this the ECM or what? I have no idea what else to look for and I am tired of dealing with this crap.

I guess the first thing to do is to catch it when it won't start and pull a plug wire and see if your getting spark, if so then its probably a fuel issue, if not it has to be something in the ignition system. after you do that let us know what you find out and maybe we can figure it out.

Well, I have pulled the plug wires before and I was getting spark. I Also unhooked the fuel line and I was getting fuel. Like I said, it will start up in a couple of hours gauranteed. I too thought it might be leaky injectors, but i do not see why it would not start once the fuel comes back. Also, if they were leaking why would it start up when I pulled it? That is why i kind of ruled them out, but I just want it fixed and I am lost right now so anything is possible. So you guys do not think it is the ECM?

I bet slow89iroc-Z is right abt the injectors leaking.

After a short shutdown the inj would not leak much. Eng would start.

After a while the leaking injs would flood the intake with fuel.
Causing a "flooded" condition.

After a little while longer, the spilled fuel would evaporate and eng would start right up again.

Next time its been off for 2-4 hrs like you said, floor the gas pedel to tell the computer to enter "clear flood" eng state, and crank it.
If it's not too flooded, it just might start.

The part abt it starting with push-start makes me think that method spins the eng fast enough to clear out the flooded condition. The starter just won't spin eng over very fast, even on a good day.

If you suspect leaking injectors, just pull a plug and smell for gas after a few hours. If you REALLY want to make sure, pull the plenum and runners off, pull the fuel rail out so the injectors are exposed and prime the pump(turn the key). You'll be able to see gas leaking out if they are bad.

See, I figured at first that it had to be leaky injectors because it could flood the engine, but then it would start when you pull it so I kind of ruled that out, but what ZZ28ZZ said makes sense. So I guess I will try and chek them out this weekend. Hopefully that will be the problem cause this is a pain in the ***.
