My cat glows red

The subject pretty much sums it up. my car has been running a little rich since i put the cat in almost a year ago. but it didn't start glowing until after i put in my cam. i checked my A.I.R. valve and hose. it is injecting air, and the line from the cat does create a slight vacuum, so that part of the cat seams to be working. when i start my car though, i get a lot of moisture from the exhaust, like sprinkles of water, but mixed with carbon. Do you guys think the cat is clogged a bit? a lot of exhaust still comes out, so it doesn't feel clogged by the flow of exhaust.
I HAVEN'T gotten my car tuned yet, but here's what i'm running, just to give more thoughts as to why the cat is glowing red.
-305 TPI w/ 22# inj
-holley AFPR
-World Products Torquer 305 heads
-SLP 1 3/4" Headers
-Borla Exhaust
-3.73's
-Hot Cam
-Catco 3" Catylitic converter
-Vacuum Resevoir

My only real problem as far as better drivability goes is a stock tranny, torque converter, and stock induction, oh, and the prom running in open loop (which i'll have fixed when i get it tuned). Any ideas? Please help. Thanks.

Timing is advanced about 8-10 degrees, it runs its best that way, but like i said, i'll get it completely straightened out once tuned.

Maybe your cat is just clogged. I had the same thing happen to a Lumina. You couldn't go more than a mile without it glowing bright red.

water is a sign of ideal combustion......From what i learned at tech school a couple of years back. i believe the glow might come from a rich mixture burning with the excess air being pumped in the cat
