Why does my car seem to smoke alot on cold mornings?
I know most peoples cars seem to smoke alot when its cold out until they get warm because of condensation I guess. But mine seems bad but soon as it warms up it goes away. I also get alittle white smoke sometimes when revving. Someone told me not running a cat will make it smoke alot on cold mornings but i dont know if thats true. Im going to do a compression test to see if maybe i have a leaky head gasket but i havent lost any coolant in a long time so i dont know what it is.

I think the valve seals shrink when its cold letting in oil and then expand once the engine is warm stopping the leak. Damn GM valve seals suck.
I just replaced all the seals a few days ago. No more smoke at startup except in the mornings. It looks more like steam than smoke tho. Like coolant or condensation or something. Or maybe there is alot of o2 in the exhaust and its freezing?

Well on really cold mornings its probably condensation. You know when you breathe you can see your breath type of thing.

Yep, all cars do that. Ever see a car goin down the road accelerating when it's 30* out, you'll see white smoke.
