torque specs on 84 305 oil pan?

well the title says it all, anybody got a clue?, ive gotten 2 differant answers from 2 differant books, and a 3rd answer from a friend of mine that disagrees with them all. Somebody help me please!

well....your oil pan isnt exactly a torque critical area (unlike modern aluminum engines). Basically i'd just tell you to just snug those bolts on. just enough to squeeze your gasket somewhat.

Be careful when reusing those old pan bolts. They get brittle and snap off easy

A mild snug with a ¼" ratchet, or about as tight as you can get them with a nutdriver... specs are somehting like 8-10 ft-lbs on the little ones and 15-18 on the 4 bigger ones at the corners
