HELP!!! Adjusted idle now....

All I did was raise the idle, the correct way with the paper clip and unplugging the iac. Now the car will not shift over 3500rpm, and under normal driving conditions it shifts at 3000rpm and really hard, also It feels like i cant floor it and it does not really down shift from a roll. Please help what could it be??

I'd start by checking/resetting the throttle valve cable tension as described in the Tech Articles section, sounds loose or maybe you knocked the cable off the throttle arm based on what you're saying.

You raised the idle on a fuel injected car? Maybe I misunderstand but the only correct way to do that is through reprogramming the chip.

Damon beat me to it. You can set the correct throttle minimum air position, but the ECM controls the idle via the IAC. Attempting to change the idle speed without reprogrramming the target idle calculations in the PROM is asking for problems.

Agreed w/ Damon and Vader, but the shifting thing seems like a separate issue.

I'd wondered if that's what you meant. TV cable adjustment (they can be sensitive)? I'm still trying to optimize mine, and may end up in the transmission before it feels just right.

BTW - ThirdGen Land is everywhere.
