car starts then stops
car starts then stops
I had previously posted on this same subject and need some further advice.
Car is 88 IROC 350 TPI. Car was running fine then just stopped now it turns over and will start then almost immediately stop. Thought it may have been a vacuum hose but have checked that out and all appears ok - Have tested the following:
Fuel pump - ok
Fuel pressure ok - 43 psi
Ignition coil - tested ok but replaced anyway.
Pick up coil tested and ok
Ignition module - tested at autozone and ok. I did notice that on removing the module that the two wires from the pick up coil were pretty well fouled up and the plastic piece that insulates the two wires was just about disintegrated - thought this may be the cause of the problem - anyway cleaned it up and reassembled
Checked ground wires and can see nothing obvious missing / broken .
Checked injector resistance and all measuring about 14 ohms which should be fine
Next checked injector connectors with NOID light and no pulse shown
(Fuses for both sets of injectors ok)
From what the manual says this is probably the ecm but before I go splash out on a new ecm is there anything else which would cause the injectors to receive no pulse??
Would appreciate any help
Andrew
