I'm assuming this is on center bolt valve covers. Just use the outside bolts and stick something in the hole. Hopefully the leaking will be minimal. Those bolts can't be very expensive, so you should just go buy new ones asap.

****,

the right (passenger) side cover should be fairly easy to access without removing a lot of the accessories.

Remove the other three bolts and cover. After the cover is off you should be able to have easier access to the broken one and get it out. If there is a bit of the shank still visible above the mounting rail, pliers should do the trick. If not, you may be able to pick the bolt out, spinning it backward with a sharp punch and hammer. If it's really bottomed or rusted in, center punch it and drill it with a 13/64" bit, retap the hole, and install a new bolt.

The replacement should be 1/4-20 x 3/4". If you can't get your hands on another bolt, use one of the upper (inner) bolts, where the cover is less likely to leak. But I'm guessing if you have at least a few tools you can round up a 1/4-20 bolt or machine screw somewhere.

Oh well, I payed my mechanic $220 to fix it and a few other small things while he was at it. 350 power is wonderfull now that it is working. especially on cold mornings like today on the way to the train station. wow doesz that tranny slam hard .

thats not TOO bad considering i was quoted 1300 bucks to change valve seals from a mechanic in my town , for that much i'd rather just do an engine swap

it would be easier if the motor was out of the car. try reaching the rear pass side valve cover bolt to drill and tap it with it in there?? it was worth every penny to me
