Is my 87 LG4 HEI or what?

While I was working on something, I noticed my ignition is not the normal HEI. The distributor and coil are separate!!! Is this stock? Thanks

That's a "small cap" HEI distributor. The "large cap" has the coil in the cap.

15 out of 18,123 members is hardly representative of this site. It didn't even take 3 hours to get an answer, how is that disappointing?

Yes your right that is hardly a representation of you all, just used to toher boards. With so many posts and topics, just thought woulda been answered quickly. I guess my expectations were high, no biggy. Just hard to believe 15 people viewed it and didnt take the time to respond or know if they have HEI... don't think I am insulting anyone.... I don't wanna get a bad rap already

You've done quite well! It only took an hour and fifteen minutes to get the answer.

No problem. You'll find the depth of knowledge around here to be second to none

It's not a big deal, I just didn't think it made much sense. Think of it this way though: with as many people were likely to look at your post, one of them is very likely to have a car exactly like yours and be able to give you a 100% sure answer rather than a 75% or something. For example: one may not have posted because one thought that they would've only put those in fuel injected cars due to clearance issues, and it's possible someone had to replace the distributor in your car and decided to switch to the other design because they liked it better, making it not stock for your car thus not normal. It's this kind of thinking that gives more accurate information, though it may cost a little bit of time. That's it, I just wanted to say that.
