Hardened pushrods?

Hardened pushrods?

I can't find any info on wether or not I need to use hardened pushrods with the Comp 4808-8 guideplate.

I'm pretty sure you need hardened ones any time you use a guideplate, as they come in contact with it.

I need to get some, all I've found is ones for like $100 or so.

Agreed. The hardened pushrods I'm using cost about $30 or so if I recall correctly. I know they didn't cost $100, I'm sure they're hardened, and they are made by Comp Cams, for use with a roller cam.

Like mark stated you ALWAYS use hardened pushrods with guideplates or heads with guides (ie-hole where pushrod goes through is the "guide"). you can get them for like $30 out of summit (summit brand # SUM-G6400) (comps # is CCA-7812-16, this is for Hyd flat tappet also)

Yep , I am also using the comp cams pushrods for roller cams. They were 29.99 from PAW or you can get the new from GM for 9.95 each
