A friend just flowed a set of the early World Product's
SportsmanII's. They flowed 218 cfm @28. They are not ported.
Hummmm. Going to go there to his shop tommorrow
and get him to throw these last set of 305 heads on the flow bench.

Well I just got back from my friends shop. We flowed one intake port of the 3rd set of 305 heads.
They flowed 243@28....
He flowed 2 intake ports on the Sportsman II heads last night
one was 218 and the other was 222
They have been cleaned up in the bowl area and the ports have had the rough cast surface cleaned up.
The guide in the port is untouched. Not very impressive
considering the customer paid $1000 for professional porting
and flow testing at another shop. To say he's pissed!!!
would be puting it mildely.

Russell,
Have you done a set with 1.5" exhaust valves yet? What did they flow?
Do you have comprehensive numbers at all lifts from .100 to .500 yet?
Hmm ... your latest flow looks like this:
243 x 0.2575 x 8 = 500.58 hp
Little old 305 heads capable of supporting up to 500 hp, eh? Only in Canada you say? Pity.

No we didn't flow them at different lifts.
We didn't use the valve lift fixture. We just opened the valve by hand to find the highest flow attainable. It's usually about .500 to .550 on a stock GM heads and .600"+ on a dart.
Althou the low and mid lift flow figures are very relevent,
if you can make good flow at high lift, you'll make good power.
He did them for free so can't complain. Thats all I wanted to know.
This 3rd set is the ones with 1.5" exhaust valves with a 30deg back cut. We didn't flow the exhaust side. They will be 150cfm+
or better Im sure. I gave 'em the full treatment....

First set was 1.94 x1.60's

The sweetest part is that you too can have a set of 305 heads that will support up to 500 hp for about $400 US--and that includes EVERYTHING!
All you have to do follow the instructions linked at the end of my sig!
