Replaced fuel pump and still have problem
2000 camaro 3800 V6
Recommended fuel pressure is 48-55, I get 40-41 so i replace the fuel pump.
I still have 40-41 and the car still will not take over 1/2 throttle, if you mash it on down it just makes a lot of noise with no gain in speed (typical fuel pressure problem) It idles fine and runs good on the road as long as you dont crowd it.
Ran a scan and got P0101 which has something to do with the MAF(dont have my material here with me to list exactly)
I still think i have a fuel delivery problem and am leaning toward the FPR.
What do you think, Fuel filter is new and all the fuel lines look good.

well if the MAF is bad (or the relay), the computer can't determine how much air is coming in. therfore won't add the appropriate amount of fuel. also, are you checking fuel pressure with the vacuum line off? fuel pressure needs to be checked with it off. or the reading will be lower.
From SAE J2012:
P0101 - Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Range/Performance Problem
Your OBDII PCM is a lot smarter thant the older ECMs. The car is likely in "Limp Home" mode and won't let the engine RPM above a set point until you clear/repair the DTC.

I should have known to pull the vacuum hose before checking pressure but i was going by a GM service manual and they made no mention of it, fuel pressure checks OK with vacuum off.
I got another code P0300 (engine misfire) I got tired of chasing all these codes so i started old school thinking about the problem.
I disconnected the exhaust from the manifolds and thank you jesus it will take all the throttle you can give it.
A new converter is being installed today, only 60k on the original.
Thanks all

That's odd. If the cat has jsut 60K on it, take it back to the dealer (even if you aren't the original owner). Federal emissions laws require a manufacturer's emissions warranty to at least 60,000 miles, so you might get a freebie.
It's odd that you didn't at least notice a slow decline in performance withn a plugged cat, though.

Yes Vader, I checked with GM today and the converters on all 96-up cars and trucks have a 80,000 mile warrenty. Too bad i jumped the gun and had a muffer shop do the job for 136.25. It never crossed my mind that it may have been covered.
This particular converter has a front and rear section to its internals, the front part broke up and clogged the rear which is why i did not notice a slow decline in performance.

Boogie, call your local dealer, the Fed Regs specify that you HAVE to have a GM dealership fix it BUT alot of shops will fix it then bill GM. If you only paid $136, they got the cat from GM and you had to pay labor. Normally the more honest shops will tell you what's up and let you call the dealer first. (The catch is that since the EPA specifies 8 yrs./80,000 mi warranty on cats, you can not buy them aftermarket. The shop had to get it at the dealer.) Call GM and see if they will pay all or part of the bill, they may or may not. If not go back to the shop and bitch, should they blow you off, call the state att. general and file a complaint. This usually does not sit well with shop owners.
