fuel problems
Will an old, possibly clogged fuel filter make my car run rough? my car sat a few years before I bought it

A little more detail might be helpful. When was the filter last changed (how many miles on the current filter)?
What is the total mileage and what other maintenance has been done recently?
Does the engine run rough all the time, only at idle, certain conditions?

ok i'm not sure when the last filter was changed because the car sat for a few years before I bought it. all the other regular tuneup stuff I have done - plugs, wires, rotor, cap.
My car runs rough at idle while in gear, and surges while in park. My car has 89.5K miles on it. I am changing the oil again in another 500 miles.
Also I checked my computer and it through a MAF code

How do I go about fixing either of those? what would my symptoms be for signal low - flow high and signal high - flow low? I need to find out soon this thing is killin me!
Your "symptoms" for either a '33' or '34' would be the same, since the ECM would ignore the MAF daa and rely on backup fuel and spark tables for operation. In essence, the engine would run, but would run rich, with low power, and poor overall performance.
The easiest way to determine which code you're getting is to scan again and note the error codes.
