a thirdgen lawn ornament?
I own a 1990 IROC With a 305 tpi and manual transmission and it goese nowhere . I will press the cluch down and turn the key and nothing the starter dosn't do anything. I can here a small click come from my drivers side kick panel and fuel pump turn on so I know it not the (Vats ).I ve replaced the battery, battery cables and less than 7 moths ago replaced the starter and ignition switch. we tried to push start the rock and the @#$* thing ran. im puzzled I need help.

Oh could i disconnect the neutral saftey switch and use a piece of wire to bypass it as a test to see if it is bad?

yeah i'd jump the safety switch, i'd guess it's bad

well after lots of searching and many many days of frustration i finaly gave up.
I just went ahead and bought a push button starter switch so now the problem is gone and the switch looks great in the old cigarete lighters home.

There are two switches on the clutch arm - one for the starter interlock and the other for the cruise control (if you have one). It almost has to be one of those two switches or the circuit, unless the car has an aftermarket alarm system.

I still need the key to use the button so no one can run off with my car . but it is also set up so it can only start with the key in the run possition. it has solved all of my starting problems so far I hope it stays that way.
