305 heads

i cant find specs on a set of heads. i found a set of 801 305 heads for cheap, but i dont know anything about them. i was hoping if some body could give the specs like combustion chamber size, valve sizes, and any other infomation i should know about. thanks a lot.

Mortec.com will have what you're looking for. Just scroll down to the bottom, and click on Chev V8 casting numbers.

Mortec.com listed those heads but it didnt give me any specs on them. or maybe i over looked something, any more ideas??

The port contours are not as good. The chamber really shrouds the valves compared to the other heads.

You can get the ones you want cheap too.

Because they flow less that a 350 head in stock form, most people think they are junk. Thats why they are cheap.

hey pskel i haev a set of heads for sale with casting #'s 14022601 and 14022801 looking for $80 for the pair plus shipping. I bought these for my car to port and stuff but never got around to it so i'm just going to get rid of them. The guy i bought them from said they didn't blow any smoke from teh valve seals before he pulled them but no idea on mileage. Shoot me a pm or email if you're interested, i have on picture of them, let me nkow

My heads are the 601, 801 castings. They are OK except for the bowl areas. They really demand a lot of contouring and just plain huge amounts of iron removed before they take on a nice shape.

I think their combustion chamber shape is superior to the 081 and 416 castings, however.

Go to the link at the end of my sig, and then to the last few posts on the thread, on the 2nd page. Damon did some good research on these castings and you can get a little more info there.
