Detent cable won't adjust - happened to anyone else?

Back in the day ( a year or two ago ) I used to adjust that bad boy with reckless abandon, once or twice a week I'd say. But now I can't get the button to "lock" no matter how hard I press, and the little casing seems loose. Unless I've gotten a lot weaker, something seems to be up - are these easy to fix/replace or has this happened to anyone?

Thanks a lot!

It's a pretty straightforward mechanism. Unless the adjuster has suffered "plastic fatigue" or there is contamination preventing it from moving, it should be able to move enough to release the cable end.

Hmm contamination - could be the case, I'll check that out. Aren't you in the Chicago area Vader? Is there a good following for gatherings etc around here?

Thanks!

I'm usually in the vicinity, or can get there in a couple of hours of less. A couple years ago we had a gathering at US 41 Dragway with a respectable turnout. We had the track all to ourselves, but it wasn't a good horsepower day. We need to do something like that again soon.
