head and cam recomendations please

sup guys? havent been on the boards lately due to school. since i found time to get on the computer, ill ask a question thats been buggin me for the past few weeks.... which heads and cam should i get?? iv got a 357ci with a 3 angle valve job stock heads(dont know the casting number), and a near stock cam..forged pistons, balanced crank, performer intake, headman shortie headers, hooker cat back, rebuilt qjet....8.5 compression. what can i go with that will keep me within emissions, but give me good power? vortech, trick flow, or them pro lightning heads that i keep hearing about?..then what cam will match it good?... lets not forget that i will be putting nitrous on my car as well,...and maybe a blower (eventualy).. im a newbie to heads and cams, so i dont know too much about them... so what does every one recomend??... oh forgot to add... money is tight!

Looks like you want a 180 cc head.

I just received my Pro Lightnings, $870 assembled aluminum shipped.

they were on sale though.

I'd replace the cam at the same time, even if you have to wait a little longer. Great oppurtunity to do so.

Need more info on your motor and car to properly select a good cam for you.
Rear gear, trans, stall converter etc.
I'd check the casting # on the heads you have now
before making a decision on new ones. Is your motor a "flat top motor" or dished pistoned? The heads you have now may not be as bad as you think.

Here's cam that "works" in just about anything.
Crane HMV278 or Powermax H 278- 2
Specs are 222/234*@.050" .467"/.494" 114LSA.
This cam is about the limit for a stock stall converter.
It also makes an exellent Street Blower/nitrous cam when yu get that blower. This ones a winner.

See it at www.cranecams.com

I was just sayin, that with a near stock cam, you don't want to be gettin 200cc heads like me, then again if you change cams, then that's a different story.

oh yeah, www.proshaver.com

www.procylinders.com I think has the specs on the head flow

Bolt on a B&M 144 or weiand 144 blower with the crane hmv 278
cam as above with a 750cfm carb on your motor as is
and you WILLl go 12's. You can port your stock heads and even got some more.
Get a good fuel system too.
This is a proven 12 sec combination. About 8psi of boost.
Needs 92 to 94 octane gas.

combo

well i would recommend raise your compression to 10-1 plus.with 9-1 cam selection would not be far from stock specs.
