Has anyone seen the new road demon jr?
If I were to buy a new carb should I get the road demon jr, road demon, edlebrock preformer 1406, or holley 4150/4160 ect.?
Can I run a spacer with the stock hood and is it worth it?

I want an Comp cams XE 262, Weiand stealth intake, mallory HEI, already have headers and 3' exhaust and a flowmaster, and I want to port and polish some L69 heads and use slightly larger valves(i dont know what casting these are).
What other mods could I do to a 305, .30 over, ect.?

Any suggestions or comments would be a great help, thanx:hail:

Buy a 350!

Honestly, it all depend on what kind of driving you plan on doing.

I asked a while ago on the review board, try a search. Demon carbs seem to be among the best.

Personally, I'm going with a Holley this time. No more Edel for me.

Not the edelbrock. I have almost the same set up as you do and mine edelbrock SUCKS!

Remember, nothing over 650 cfm. Demon has done a good job building a name for itself, but when a company gets "good" and then changes, it makes me nervous. I am still considering buying one though.

You know what you'll get with Holley, or at least a lot of other people do. They are a bench mark standard for the industry. Demon has applied 99% of the good stuff from holley and improved on it, but hten again 56.4% of all statistics are made up.

I just dumped my Edelbrock for a new Road Demon on my T/A daily driver. It was running great since I finished my engine/tranny swap, since this weekend I have another problem that is not related to the carb.

It has excellent throttle response, 4 cornor idle, it is A LOT easier to work with then the Edel. everything that is adjustable can be adjusted so easily. All you need to tune it is a flathead, a 5/8" wrench, and a long streach of road. It is also supposed to have some special gaskets that will keep your carb from losing tune. Plus it looks great.

My next choice would be a Holly S/A which is the same design with similar features and costs around the same.

Hope this helps a little,
Matt

Thanks mark, gruveb, matt: just curious, what kind of problems are you having out of your edelbrock?

I think I will go with the road demon.

i've heard of ALOT of problems with barry grant lately, the older stuff is ok, but there's been alot of substandard repairs and parts used in their newer stuff, thats why jegs and summit dropped them, they were getting as many returns for repairs as they were orders for new ones.

When did Jegs and Summit drop them? I just got the new catalogs and they are in there.

When I was getting my dyno done the guy at the speed shop noticed that the accelerator pump arm had a design flaw in it and said he heard that they recalled many of them and that most new ones should be fixed. Guess I got one that was on the shelf a while. I'm going to try to call BG to see what the deal is.
