What brand and what size are you guys using? I'v gone from a 350, AFR 190s, S/R, 219 cam to a 383 with the same setup. I've been using Edelbrocks headers with the 350. I'd like to hear what everyone else is using with their combos. Thanks

Gary

I use Hooker Shorties with 1 5/8" primaries.

I don't think there is a GREAT deal of difference between brands. Other than at least 1 5/8" primaries, I would make sure the flange is made from at least 3/8" steel to assure a good seal to the exhaust ports, and no warpage over time.

I've used the Edelbrock shorties, wasn't too impressed with them, wouldn't buy them again.

I just purchased a set of Hedman long tubes 1 5/8 for $107 from summit.

For your combo, a set of Hooker 1 3/4 long tubes would be great if you want to try long tubes, or a set of SLP 1 3/4 shorties.

I have the hedman shorties. The Y-pipe it came with is 2.5 inches. Unless you find out hedman is making a 3 inch y-pipe for it that I couldn't find I wouldn't get them. The headers themselves fit nice and seal well. But the 2.5 inch pipe really pisses me off.

With the longtubes, how is it running duals to the back on our cars? Who has done it?

search for Willie on the exhaust board, his setup is pretty crazy but expensive.
