ggod question can you trace it through the bulkhead/fire wall it seems to run inside the vehicle.
do you have cruise control?
can you tell if it had fluid in it or is it a vaccume type hose/line?

i personally do not have much experience with the 2.8 but i will try to find out what that is for you

It's a cable protector for some cable going inside/outside the car, thru the firewall. For, like throttle cable, speedo cable, like that.

That is the remains of the speedometer cable. It should screw into the cruise control regulator, when it has had its center reinstalled.

It goes from the cruise to the speedo. The trans gear drives the first cable, which drives the cruise; then that cable goes from there to the speedo.

Is it a vacuume hose with a black plastic end? There should be another black plastic end that it conects to, but I'm not sure what it's for.

It is the speedometer cable.

What happened to the center? Without the center, the speedo won't work.
