Help me beat my brother!

I am in a heated competition with my brother, who is taking a 76 Malibu block, changing it to a 383 with TF Twisted wedge heads, pistons etc.. and a compression of around 12:1, bolting a TH350 and 3.73 12 bolt into a 86 cutlass supreme body. What I need help with is putting together a combo to challenge him, but keeping it in a budget of $2000 or so ($500 extra if the wife let's me ) I have an L98, which I am switching to carb, so options should be a bit greater for upgrading. My setup is an 88 IROC with the 700R4 rebuilt nicely, and a stock BW rear. If I am fighting a loosing battle with this budget, let me know so I don't embarrass myself!

You can get a superram system, exhaust if you dont have it, some 3.73s if you dont have them, and still have money to put on say a 100 shot. Thats my best bet.

TPI, ecm, are gone, sold, trashed, done for. I hated the ecm, always problems with reprogramming chip, MAF problems, going old school. I had Heddman Hedders(1 5/8 shorties) and a 3" exhaust with no cat and now Flowmaster 1 chambers. 3.27 gearing right now. Getting a TH400 and alum. driveshaft for trade, so that end is taken care of. Not opposed to going to a stroker, just needing ideas for a strong, budget oriented build-up!
