Anyone heard of Torque Plus Intake Gaskets?
I was browsing through Jeg's last night and found some intake gaskets called "Torque Plus" that have little mesh screens in them. They are supposed to atomize the fuel and create smaller droplets. Do they work? Anyone tryed them?

in my opinion, that is stupid. why would you put a restriction in your intake? if its a poorly designed intake, then i could see some fuel / air separation, but i wouldnt run one of those either.

Yes, but it should not take long to warm up the intake runner to the point where fuel can no longer condence. They appear in the picture to be very fine mesh screens. I'm not sure if there would be any restriction or not. I'll post on the carb board to see if anyone there has them.

I don't see how they would be restrictive they would much less restrictive then any air filter ever made!

May not clog up the first day after there installed, but imagine a couple of months or a year down the road???
It's a secondary air & fuel filter, you can't clean ... ouch ...

Good subject,
Those things seem like they would certainly slow down air and gas flow. Many people with TPI units remove the screens from their MAF sensor because it increases the CFM significantly. I am also willing to bet the screens in the MAF sensors have much bigger holes or are not as fine as the screens in the gaskets.
I would like to hear what other people think about these also!

If you have a good air filter and fuel filter I don't think they would clog up. Another thing I thought about is that they may save that carb stud nut if you dropped it in the intake. That way you could stick a small magnet down there toget it. I'd really like to know if anyone has used them though, it's the only real way to test strengths and weaknesses.

Tehy are capitlizing on an old trick that people did in the '60 some of my dad's hot roding buddies seware buy putting old window screens on the intake and say they they get a noticable boost in power, I don't think it would work in an EFI car though. just my .02

You might be able to make you own using nylon pantyhose. Somebody try it and tell me the results, because nobody here wants to spends the money.

While you're putting pantyhose in your engine, you could try shoving a shoe in the intake tract to increase the velocity of incoming air
The only chance of those working is in a poorly setup carb application. As far as any electronic direct port injection motor all those would do is hurt performance. Lets remember here that a fuel injector would be sitting almost on top of the dumb screen as the whole intention is to spray directly into the head and right into the combustion chamber hence taking any instability out of the air fuel mixture that is sometimes developed in carbed motors.
