radio say loc

MY 89 GTA shows loc on the radoi but will not play . the pontiac dealer said that my radio needs replaced . I had afriend who repaired this for me once but I forgot what he did to bring it back to life can anybody help me here thank you mike

You shouldn't need a new radio, there a thread on the car audio board that shows you how to unlock your radio.

Axle/Gears: Strange 12-bolt w/ 3.73

Not sure...but dont you just push the mute button on the steering wheel or somethign like that??? Should say in the owners manual. The stupid pontiac dealer should have told you about that.... Good luck. The audio board is in the list of "Tech Boards" on this site.
