Map Sensor Questions?

Last night while driving the mule I was pinching the vacuum line to the Map Sensor and there was no change at all. Should any thing happen when i cut the vacuum to the sensor? I thought that the Map sensor readings corresponded to a fuel and timing map in the ECU. Also, where can i find voltage values based on vacuum readings to further investigate the cause of the major malfunctions?

Thursday i changed my intake gaskets and while inspecting them i found two oval carbon buildups on the gasket from the EGR passages. Are the EGR passages supposed to blocked going into the head or is that normal? I used fel pro 93318 and 93317 gaskets.

And while putting the intake back on i stripped the first intake thread again. DOH

Normally, you could search the archievs and get a lot of information, but...

Whip out your handy digital meter and vacuum gauge/pump. Test the sensor voltage output and compare it to this scale:

Thanks Vader, on both parts. As soon as i saw the graph, i realized I already had it in my archives of photos. Anyway, not I do not have any more excuses.

Right On
