High BLM's
High BLM's
installed a new 4 wire O2, but Im not sure the O2 was all of my problem. but then again i am starting to get confused on this whole BLM crap.. i don't understand how i can have O2 readings of .7 or so and still have a BLM of 160. i wish i could understand all this better but im trying.. because the O2 readings seem to be higher, but the BLM's aren't.. maybe it hasn't been driven enough to get the BLM's lower?
the second link has a WOT run near the bottom, detonation isn't that bad this time.. i have a few theorys that i wanna check out.. but i want to learn more about these readings and stuff.
at least the O2 mV is higher at idle then it was before. not by much but its something.. but im not even goign to go into the other problems i was having tonight with voltage and the IAC..

My cold idle problem started after installing the new EGR and putting the injectors back in..(see this post --> https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=155365)
the main thing i want answered (cause i know i wrote alot) is what you can tell me about the scan data\emissions data and the plugs.. thanks

I am noticing your MAF flow rate, at idle on my bone stock L98, I would pull 8-9 gm/sec and at 2000rpm with a 1v TPS voltage, I would flow 50 gm/sec, but my injector pulse rate is alot longer. It could be because you were on the dyno. Do you have any scans of you just driving on the street, the other fbody.com links don't work. My plugs looked just like yours when I had a blown intake gasket, my BLM would go to 160 and my o2 would drop to 4 before I fixed that.

i fixed the first two links..hmm well my vaccum is about 18" that is pretty steady but will kinda move back and forth very slowly about an inch or two that goes along with engine speed. i had a video of it, but its not working...

Next time you get time spray some WD40 around the injectors and see if the rpms change.

sprayed some starting fluid near the injectors and lower plenum area where the runners bolt to the base. (tried to concentrate most of the spray on the injectors where they go into the base)
and as you can see i do have a slight leak. well i guess its slight, i don't really know how bad of a leak it is. but since i have around 18" of vaccum it can't be too bad can it? this graph shows the RMPs rise when i sprayed the starting fluid near the injectors on both sides and trying some other areas along with the O2 mV. the whole graph takes place over about 7 and a half minutes. i wonder how bad of a leak i do have...
oh and this was all done with the IAC unplugged
EDIT: ok now i am as confused as a Mexican in a Chinese McDonalds.. the BLM's throughout this graph were at 128 in Cell 1 the WHOLE time EXCEPT when i sprayed the starter fluid. when i sprayed the starting fluid the BLM cell would goto 2 and the BLMS went to 126.. other then that they stayed at 128 and didn't move at all.. i don't see how i could be running at 128 unless maybe it had somethign to do with the IAC not being connected and it was screwing things up? it said i was in closed loop
EDIT2: hmm i just noticed something else VERY interesting... my usual closed throttle TPS voltage is .71 (i adjusted minumum air and had opened the throttle some and forgot to change the TPS voltage). but when i did the vaccum leak test i had unplugged the IAC but it didn't close all the way (yes i did the correct procedure to close the IAC) so i had to back the throttle adjustment screw out all the way and the idle wouldn't go below 1000 but the voltage was .57 instead of .71.. maybe that had something to do with it...

The base tps reading relies on the IAC adjustment, that's why you adjust the IAC before doing the TPS. If you moved the minimum air position and the TPS voltage changed, that's normal.
Did you install the o-rings for your fuel injectors dry?

The IAC is a vacuum leak, the computer know how far it wants it opened or closed and calculates that air getting into the motor, if it's not going were the computer tells it to then that throws things off.
Get them fixed and we can see how it runs after that.

well it looks like i will doing that this weekend. do u have to pull ur runners to get the fuel rail off? oh well they need to be polished better anyways..
