Performer RPM vs. Hood Clearance....

I'm thinking about using an Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake #7101 on my new 350 build and I was wondering if there is clearance for it with the stock hood? No big deal if there isn't, I'll just buy a cowl hood. Anybody running this intake?

This has been asked and answered so may times, it's getting real boring.

Yes it will fit ... With the proper drop base air cleaner assembly.

I use the GM L-88, Z28 corvette drop base air cleaner assembly
that was used on corvettes and camaros in the late 60's.

You can still buy it from corvette restoration parts sources.

Like Ecklers etc.
The old factory set up sits lower, fits better and is much better contoured for higher air flow than the common aftermarket ones like K&N and Moroso. They sit a little higher.

the other alternative is to get one from

Here is a pic of the aircleaner on a firebird with the performer RPM
intake. There is even enough room for a 1/2"nitrous plate.

F-bird...which one of those ramairboxs would you recommend. What is the largest there that would fit in my application (I also have the RPM with a current 10*1" aircleaner ). I never knew these guys existed.
Thanks,
