Steering Column Experts, PLEASE HELP!

Alright, I'm trying to replace my wiper/cruise/blinker/brights control arm and my canceling cam, what a PITA

I got the lock plate off finally using the correct tool (still was a PITA though) and now I'm stuck I removed the 3 screws that hold the mechanism behind it for the hazzards and stuff but I can't get it out because I can't figure out how the heck to remove the hazard switch sticking out of the steering column, how do you do that?

Also, how exactly do I go about replacing that control arm forthe blinkers and stuff? Another thing, my brights don't work but the lever is pushing on the rod, so is my problem farther down the column?

Thanks!!!

The hazard **** has a screw inside that hollow part that you need to remove so the mechanism comes out, and check the high beam switch at the base of the column,,,it may need adjustment.
Not sure about how to remove the multi-function lever though.

IIRC...
llv got the hazard prob. Yes you have to check down the column, sometimes the bar pops out of the switch. The control arm comes out by pushing in slightly and twisting out. Make sure you unbolt the innards of the lever from the mechanism and make sure you remember how to put it back on. Good luck

Thanks! I got the hazzard button off using the screw and it turns out the lever just pulls straight out! Talk about easy on that one. I got everything back together and it all works great.

Tomorrow I'll check farther down my column and make sure the rod is one the switch. I just remove my lower dash pad and there it is or what?

The switch is way up there I think right next to the ignition switch. Hard to get to, but you should be able to see the rod.

Well yeah I got that part and I can see that the lever is perfectly pushing the rod. I mean where do I find the other end of it toward the bottom to make sure it''s flush with the dimmer switch it's self...

Thanks!

That's what I meant. By the ignition switch down at the base of the column. White plastic piece.

Got, works PERFECT now. All I had to do is losen the screws that hold the dimmer switch and re-adjust it.

Thanks for all the help guy! BTW, with that new canceling cam my blinkers were awesome!

Hey no problem. By the way, does the cam come with the wires already hooked up to 'em or were you able to disconnect them off your old cam? When I had mine apart it looked like it was all one unit.

The canceling cam is just that white plastic ring with the piece of metal on the other side. The part your talking about sounds like the blinker controller..
