Headlights constantly burning out, what's wrong???
My headlight on the right side has been replaced twice since i purchased my car in November. Each time i have noticed that the bulb has filled with water and that has caused the short. The left side is fine and I was wondering if it could be the housing that is resposible for the leak. Anyone have some suggestions on how to fix this.

Usually that's caused by hitting rocks thrown up by other vehicles at high speed....
Ways to keep it from happening: avoid rocks flying through space, don't drive the car around other vehicles. Other than that, that's just the way it is.... be glad it isn't your windshield (yet)

I have an 87 firebird formula. I was thinking that the place where the light gets put in might not be sealed enough, and that's what the problem is. Has anyone else had this problem?
I replace my regular lights with xtra bright ones last spring. By the time fall came one light burned out and filled with water and the other one was close to burning out. I returned them to Autozone and got two new ones. Both are starting to fill with water again. They are Syvania brands. There are no cracks in the lenses or voids in the seals. There is a plug on the backside. I believe this is where the water is entering from. When the lights are down the plugs face up and they maybe vulnerable to water penetration. I park my car front facing down on a slope and I belive this may compound the problem. I am going to take this set back and try some other brand or try extra sealant around the plugs. Hope this helps.
I have not had the chanch to check out any other brands. I am currently trying to remove a stuck O2 sensor, what a p.i.t.a. If I run across any I'll let you know. After I get this O2 sensor replaced, I'll be going back to Autozone to see what solution they can offer me for the problems we are having. Now that I know it's not an isolated case they better at least refund my costs.

I decided to write to Sylvania and explain my problem and they said that it was a bad batch and will send me out a set of replacements. Drop them a letter and let them know.
