It's tough for me to get my key out of the ignition...why?
This just happened today. I shut off my car, and had a heck of a time getting my key out of the ignition. In addition to that, I can put the car in reverse without having the key in the ignition now! What could be the problem?
Your ignition lock is probably worn out. If so, here is a good site
to check out.http://home.t-online.de/home/O_Scholz/steering.html

thank you very much for the reply! I took it in this morning, and they said that unless I wanted to pay $300 for a new ignition deal, then I should just live with it. Is this safe, and is this the correct price?

Do it yourself. A lock cyl is around $50, and you should be able to do it with the 2 steering wheel tools (puller, & lock ring remover) in less than an hour.

It's the cylinder wearing out, and you're better off fixing it as soon as you can, rather than having it go like mine did....with the keys in the ignition...completely locked up....and having no choice but to call a locksmith in to replace the cylinder, cut new keys...and charge me $330 for a house call.. Grrrr.....
Ignition lock trouble
Do a search on this message board for TomP+lock. It came up
at the top of the page for me. He documented his ignition lock
replacement with several pictures. Thanks, :hail: TomP.
