Delco Plugs
Anyone know which Delco plugs to put in an a 1983 LG4 ?
I think they were R43 or R45 or something but the book that I looked at today only goes back to 1985.
Thanx.

Or Champion RV15YC4 (Hot - RV15YC6). The AC plugs work just fine, but lack the plating and extra lower insulator seal of the Champions. That isn't a big problem, but this normally only happens to plain steel plugs:

About how long was it in the car for it to get like that - from what little I can see of them, the electrodes in that picture don't look all that old but the rest of the plug is rotted real good.
I don't know f its a concern of yours I have a bitch of a time getting to spark plugs with my Hooker Super Comp headers. When I went to the parts store I looked at about 4 or 5 different manufacturers of spark plugs before deciding on the bosch plugs. They are designed with a shorter insulator so I have that extra millimeter or so I need to get my spark plug socket around the bastards. The AC/Delco plugs were too damn long.

Yeah - I have the same problem with my hedmans - have to the raise the car to get at 3, 6 and 8.
I can only get a socket on a few of them and for the others I use a boxend wrench.

Man, I've tried all kinds of wrenches and I've never been able to get one around a plug....the nut is too recessed in the head for me. I have to get at least the socket on, and even though the ratchet won't fit on it, it has a 6 point nut on the end so I can use a wrench.

The boxend just barely fits and I have to angle it a bit to get it on the nut part of the plug - The whole boxend part doesn't actually get on there but just enough to turn it.
On some of them I can get the open end of the wrench on there but it's probably angled about 45 degrees to do it.
My motor is an LG4 in an 83 TA so maybe the heads are easier to get at - like don't shroud the plugs as much.
