Insurance rates?
Does anyone out there know of a good Insurance company that offers low rates, I am a poor college student, I love my car, but Insurance is absolutely Killing me each month!!!, I was told that Geico was one of the lowest, and I'm with them. But they are still quite high. Just wonderin, I'm all about saving money.

Progressive quoted me at about $1200 for a year, I didn't think that was too bad. I'm a poor college boy myself! So poor the IROC's gotta go
550/ 6 mo with trigon, on my own policy
that's with good driver, good student (even though i havent got a 3.0gpa in years now) and infl rest (even though i took it out) discounts
i assume as an addition to a parents' policy would be even cheaper

I pay around 110-120 a month for my bird through Farmers with home owners and a few other little policies attached and thats with liability in coloarado with the wonderfull maniditory "no falut" attached making it more expensive. Insurance is a scam, my rates have never gone down since I was 17 living at home or on my own. Id try Geico or Progressive since you probably dont own a home being a college student.
:edit: You should see how much they want for my Malibu, $190 just for liability.

'SSC', I had it with Farmers also. They raised my home owners for no reason, so I dumped them and now use USAA home owners.
I currently pay about 35 bucks a month for my bird (liability), and about 100 bucks for my Vette (Full-500). My Impala (Full-500) cost about 80 bucks. All insured though USAA.
...and I'm coming off a suspension from about 2 1/2 years ago (Book wise, I only lost my license for about 6 months, and at that I had an open red license. One word -lawyer-)
I used to pay only about 20 bucks for the bird, in fact once the suspension falls off ( book wise - 3 years) it will be back to normal. (About the same cost as I currently pay, but with 250 deductibles)
When I first got the suspension on the books (mid 2000) I had to pay about 340 a month for all my cars & 1000 deductibles.
One tip for you guys - Don't get a suspension!!! A few tickets here and there may affect your policy a little, but a suspension is worse than say a dui!!! No kidding.

im 16 and just got on insurance, they told me my monthly bill will be $67.52 for my car with just liability, which i see as not bad considering all my friends pay around $200, though there cars are 2000 and 2002 model cars...

Unfortunatly I got stuck because of a recent claim that wasent taken care of anyway so they tagged me and I couldent touch anything for much cheaper.I think were all going to be paying for 9-1-1 losses for a long time.

That's no good! I think that was the first thing they checked in there central insurance database or what ever, is weather I made a claim recently.
Well, I criused away from Farmers on the home owners & pay about 200 less per year with more coverage.
If & when you have a chance - walk away!!!
BTW: Colorado has the most jacked up rates in the country! I seen guys in there teens, with a suspension paying upwards 300+ bucks per month for liability on ONE car!!!
