SPeedo Gears

Hey all I have swaped my 2:72 Posi rear with a 4TH gen 3:23 posi W/ Disc rear. Do you have any idea on part numbers for the 3:23 speedo gears?

Thanks

no, but Im sure taht you could either go to GM, and get one without any knowledge, or you could try to find one in a junkyard. Good luck,

There are, I believe, 3 combos of speedo gear for 3.23. They are:

15T Grey (8642620) Drive, 39T Brown (1359273) Driven
16T Blue (8640518) Drive, 42T Green (1362049) Driven
17T Red (8640517) Drive, 44T Dk. Grey (9780470) Driven

When I went from 3.08 to 3.23 rear end, I got the gray gear, but never put it in, If you want to buy it, let me know. It is a GM part.

When I got mine I wend to the Gm dealer and told them I was doing a rear rend swap. I was putting in a 1993 Z28 (3.28)rear end into a 1991 camaro (3.08) and said what gear I would need. I dont remenber exacytly how he figuried it out, but I think he used some math using the nymber of teeth on the grear. (Ithink you need it to be a certian ratio) and the gray gear gave me the closet ratio to go from 3.08 to 3.23 rear end. Sorry I dont know how exaclty he fiquied it out, but it only took about 5 min to fiquie it.???
