I tried to do a search and I wasnt able to find anything so my question is, what year did they go to large journal? I have a friend that has a set of rods for a 72 small block and I am thinking of getting them but dont know if it will work. They would be going into a 89 350 1 piece rear block. I hope that I asked the question right. Any help would be great. Thanks.

 

72 would be a large journal crank. The last small journal was in 67 or 68 if I remember right.

 

Was it that early. I was thinking that it was closer to the middle 70s. Anyone else know?

 

it was deffinetly 67 i am positive

 

LJ 302 and 350 came out in 67. 327 was SJ untill 68, in 69 all SBCs were LJ
