Knock Sensor

While I was undering my 92 RS pokeing around..i found the knock sensor...which the connector was broken off. Does this need to be hooked up?

The knock sensor should definitely be hooked up, I'm kind of surprised you haven't noticed anything strange. It should use the same connector as the fan switch. You might try going to a junkyard to find a connector because many GM vehicles used that kind of connector starting somewhere in the early-mid eighties.

The knock sensor is usually located in the block on the passenger side, though it can be located in the same place on the driver's side. Not to be confused with the fan switch, which is located in the passenger side head between plugs 6 and 8.
